  Good books against evolution?

  after reading 'the greatest show on earth' by dawkins, i have been intrigued by how biblical literalists explain the many findings that seem to support evolution and contradict various parts of the bible.

  in doing to i have browsed around on aig but i have generally felt let down by the quality of evidence and interpretations they present.

  so i would like to ask all non-evolutionists: if i wanted to learn more about the physical case against evolution, what books should i read?

  Interestingly however many books are published attempting to disprove evolution, the world around us continues to evolve.

  We learnt about the limitations of books from all those WT publications that turned out to be laughably wrong. Books are just opinions unless they they can prove or demonstrate their assertions beyond any doubt.

  Books fall into two categories, fiction or non-fiction. Often so called fiction books contain more facts that books that claim to be non-fiction. Let the reader beware!

  Is it just me or do people who think they have some special inside relationship with God come off like self-absorbed lunatics?

  i mean, i know i'm self-absorbed, however i don't think i have or ever will have some relationship with god that everyone else doesn't likewise have.. .

  and geez!

  knock off the paragraphs upon paragraphs of blah, blah, blah..."and that's how i know i'm so special.

  It is not in any way necessary to have have some special inside relationship with God, to come off like a self-absorbed lunatic.

  I manage this feat perfectly well on my own!

  has anyone read this book?

  i haven't, but i just watched a documentary on it.

  the author's premise is that the idea of jesus as a god coming to earth came out of egyptian mythology and that there is no real archeological evidence that jesus actually existed.

  Hi little-butterfly,

  I left the Witnesses but found something missing in my life. The 9 to 5 routine was boring me to death. So I became a gladiator. It's a tough life but the hours are short. The people I meet at work don't last long in the job, particularly Christians!

  A word of advice.

  New friends are alright but used friends are cheaper.

  You get some strange types on this forum. Don't believe everything they say. I will watch your back for you.

  Hope you find what you are looking for.

  faith: if we adopt it as a way of accepting what we are told.... would investigating what we are told be a lack of faith?.

  when i was 20 years old i was instructed to refuse induction into the armed forces.

  privately, i was instructed to not accept the legal alternative: alternate service (work in a hospital as a non-combatant conscientious objector.).

  i wouldn't go.

  i was given 3 invitations to be given to my daughter, my ex and myself.

  i thanked them for the invites and just chuckled to myself.. if you decided to tell a witness why you weren't going to attend, what would you say?
